On January 16, we helped celebrate Martin Luther King Day with a family program on the birds of winter. Younger children
made peanut butter
bird feeders and talked about bird adaptations for gathering food. We watched birds at the park feeders and even heard the songs of the birds we saw. A few hearty souls braved freezing weather to walk park trails. We have a regular red headed woodpecker and have seen bald eagles near the river.
