On Tuesday, June 5, noted geologist William Melson spoke about the geology of the Shenandoah Valley and its rivers. Bill is retired from the Smithsonian and is a long-time resident of Fort Valley. His book, Geology Explained: Virginia’s Fort Valley and Massanutten Mountains, is not only recognized as the source for local geological info but is a great read for information about the Valley.
